A walk in the woods

With the aspens turning color, Steamboat Springs has been transformed into a glittering golden-green landscape.  These are a few photos from a hike we took into the forest.  

The bark beetle has destroyed pines in this area.  Many have fallen over and others will fall during the winter.  

 

Wide Open Spaces---Unplugged

Sorry for not posting for a few days, but this is what Dr. C. and I have been living in--relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Steamboat Springs and its environs.  No recipes to post, and limited internet but LOTS of beautiful vistas.  We leave for Durango tomorrow, and on to Sedona Saturday.  I'll post the delicious road food tomorrow---enjoy the views!
